TSU PhD has

Reputation

Imperial Tomsk University, founded in 1878, was the first and only institution of higher education in the territory of Siberia and Russian Far East.
More than 150 thousand high-quality specialists have been prepared by the University.
Among the TSU alumni are more than 100 members of academies of science, 150 winners of national science prizes, and 2 Nobel prize winners.

Today there are 17 thousand students and about 700 PhD and postdoctoral students at the University.
Among the University staff are 500 Doctors and 1000 Candidates of Science.
There are 22 thesis defense committees.

PhD students conduct research in TSU Centres of Excellence headed by top scientists.

Individual learning path

Special features of TSU PhD programmes are flexible structure (mandatory and complementary parts), research priority, interdisciplinarity, opportunity to follow an individual learning path, and thesis defense in English, as well as distance learning opportunities.

Programmes instructed in English are Mathematics and Mechanics, Physics and Astronomy, Informatics and Computer Science, and Biological Sciences.
