Biophotonics
 Specialists in this area study the interaction of biological tissue and photons in order to understand the mechanisms of the physiological and pathological processes in the living organism at the cellular and molecular level. They will be able to apply this knowledge in developing new optical technologies for diagnosis of diseases in the early stages.
The Master's programme in biophotonics is interdisciplinary, and it is based on research in optics and biomedicine conducted at TSU in the StrAU Institute of Biomedicine. The University of Oulu (Finland) will be a partner in creating the programme. 
After graduation, graduates will be able to conduct research, and scientific, innovative, organizational, and managerial work in areas related to the latest achievements in biophotonics. Such specialists are in demand in biological, physical, chemical, and medical institutions where research is carried out on fundamental and applied interdisciplinary areas of physics, biology, and medicine, in practical health-care institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and the production sector.

Verification and Testing of Hardware and Software Components of Telecommunication Systems

The programme offers training of qualified specialists in telecommunications, communication, and also transfer, reception and processing of information. Such professionals possess:

  • Profound knowledge and understanding of computerized systems of information processing and transfer, programming methods including elements of parallel programming, of verification, validation, and testing of hardware and software telecommunication systems components;

  • Skills to design software including data- and knowledge-bases, to analyze computer system safety, to design, improve and verify logical designs, to create and test telecommunication protocols.

MSc Human Development: Genetics, Neuroscience and Psychology is specifically aimed at those pursuing a research career or professional career in educational, clinical and other professional settings. This interdisciplinary programme provides training in basic scientific and technological principles of modern research methods, and their application to understanding and improving human development. The programme is implemented at the International Centre for Research in Human Development (ICRHD)

The International Centre for Research in Human Development is also a member of multiple consortia and networks, including Twin Registries, TAGC (The Accessible Genetics Consortium), INRiCHD (International Network for Research in Child Health and Development). Our international research partners from world leading universities include: King’s College London; Goldsmiths, University of London; University of Sussex, Ohio State University, Laval University, Moscow State University and other.
