TSU ranked 47 in the BRICS ranking of universities

The QS BRICS 2014 University Rankings compares the Top 200 institutions in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and Tomsk State University took 47th place in the overall ranking and sixth among the Russian universities.

53 Russian Universities entered got the BRICS new ranking of universities «QS World University Rankings: BRICS 2014". In the top 10 is only MSU. University took the third place. Yet only six Russian universities make the top 50. Tomsk Polytechnic University ranked 67 and TUSUR ranked 111-120.

Rating methodology allows to compare universities by the several indicators: activity and reputation in the academic community and among employers, teaching and internationalization.

- The rating purpose is to show that not only the American and British universities are able to take the leading place, because at the BRICS territory are concentrated the large part of population and universities - said the vice-rector for network information activities TSU Vladimir Demkin. - Last year's ranking was released in December, and TSU took the 58th place among the BRICS universities and 9th place among the Russian universities. This time we showed the better results, but we will fight for the place in the top 10!
