Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) has allocated 7 scholarships to TSU students for study in Beijing in the 2016-2017 academic year. BIT is inviting students of Tomsk State University to receive a master's and PhD degree, or complete one or two semesters in China.

BIT has offered to train in 10 English-speaking educational programmes in various areas, occupying high positions in the overall ranking of QS. The Beijing Institute of Technology is included in the 51-100 group in Electronics, in the 101-150 group in Engineering chemistry and chemical technology, in the group of 151-200 Aeronautics, space science and space technology.

- It is good and interesting for us because Chinese universities have the same way that we have, - says Artem Rykun, Vice-Rector for International Affairs. - China has already implemented two programmes of academic excellence. It is significant that in order to ensure a flow of new ideas, Chinese universities not only hire international scientists and participate in international research, but also attract international students.

The Vice-Rector noted that previously a relationship between TSU and BIT did not exist. Peking University was the first to offer Tomsk State University a scholarship. According to Artem Rykun, it was the result of active promotion of TSU in China:

- Every year we go to China for educational exhibitions, where we have not only educational but also business partners. We are working on the promotion of the University in the web space. The presence of Confucius Institute played a huge role, as well as the active work of its directors Irina Shvedova and Wang Guohong.

International universities regularly provide TSU students and scholars with scholarships to study abroad. Currently there is a competition for those wishing to participate in the Erasmus programme at the University of Wroclaw (Poland), which has allocated to TSU 8 scholarships, with two each for undergraduates, graduate students, professors and university administrators.

Beijing Institute of Technology is one of the leading universities in China, and considered the strongest in engineering and technology. It is the only technological university in China that is included in the QS ranking, taking the 401st position in the total list.
