Artists from Finland came to the TSU plein-air festival "Tomsk Etudes"

Plein-Air Festival "Tomsk sketches" is opened in TSU. It consists of meet the Tomsk artist session, famous Russian artists and designers master classes, plein air in the picturesque Tomsk places. The final exhibition will be the result of the festival. The event was organized by TSU Department of Design.

- Plein-Air - it's a part of the educational process – said the head of the department Nikolay Dolgikh. - Work in the open air allows artists to take a fresh look at the play of light and shadows, to improve color reproduction. Therefore it is so important for brush masters to clean the palette and go to the nature with a blank canvas. It's refreshing the perception.

During this festival students and teachers of Institute of Arts and Culture made ​​presentations and conference. Three Finnish artists who submitted their plein-air creative works became the guests of the conference "Plein Air as an interdisciplinary research facility of the modern culture landscape".

- We have a rare opportunity to represent our university, not only through scientific schools, but also through the creation, particularly through art and design, - said Eduard Chernyak, Director of Institute of Arts and Culture. - We are very pleased that Finland guests visited us. They are wonderful artist and acquaintance our students with them will be useful for the creative development. Moreover, their visit will strengthen the international university image and the contacts establishment. Today they came to Tomsk and later we will visit them.

The festival will last until July 10
