The International Student Jazz Symposium on the impact of music on the human brain will end with a gala concert at TSU, where invited guests, international jazz stars, will perform. A sextet consisting of well-known jazz musicians will meet for the first time on the stage.
The International Jazz Symposium will be held from 12 to 14 October. Teachers of renowned music schools and world famous musicians will hold master classes in improvisation. Each day will end with a concert where students who came to the event from different countries will perform. On 14 October will be a gala concert, the second part of which will consist of performances of stars of the world of jazz.
- The concert will begin like this: we will have the best students perform one item. One of the VIP musicians will play with them, - said Askhat Saifullin, one of the organizers of the contest, bass player and promoter. - The second part will be dedicated entirely to the performance of the all-stars band. Steve Turre is preparing a special arrangement ... The program will be rich, we will show jazz music in different directions. There will be many different kinds of music. It will be a feast of jazz.
Trombonist Steve Turre, professor at the Juilliard School of Music, will perform together with Askhat Saifullin. Turre is also known as a musician playing on seashells, and will bring to Tomsk several of his sea instruments. In addition, Rosario Giuliani, the best saxophonist in 2011, Tommy Campbell, musician-drummer, Frank Sinatra's favorite trumpeter Melton Mustafa, and Silvano Monasterios, award-winning pianist, will participate in the concert. Jorge Martin Lada, technical director of Spanish theater La Sala Apolo, who eight times received the award for best European concert and theater venues, will be a sound engineer for the concert.
