16.06.2014

Digital magazine about the Faculty of Journalism history, its traditions, teachers and students today is available in App Store. This first edition of the iPad in Russia designed to journalism students.

Students have developed the "10 points" magazine in the course "Design of multimedia publications" For more than half a year sophomores have studied the technology and features of digital publications creation, collected information of the faculty history, interviewed teachers, students and graduates of Faculty of Journalism, took photos and infographics to texts, shot the video. The result was a complete edition for iPad.

- Initially sophomores wanted to release a print magazine, but I proposed them to make it digital - says the project leader Vasily Vershinin. - Ipad-magazine as educational edition has a lot of advantages. We can distribute it not only in Tomsk, but also in other cities or even abroad, what will help many years living abroad graduates. Thus, we obtain a broad readership, despite the iPad limitation as the only distribution channel for this magazine reading.

The name of the publication is directly linked to the Faculty of Journalism history. Ten years ago it was separated from the Philology Department. Magazine is divided into ten sections, each devoted to a specific topic: interviews with faculty staff, alumni, materials about the traditions department, international cooperation and so on.

Since 10th June the TSU Faculty of Journalism publication can be found in the App Store. The publication is free to download.
