QS Rating QS has confirmed TSU’s the high international level of TSU

Tomsk State University has improved its position in the ranking of QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA), which was published today.

According to the rating, TSU has risen from 33rd to 27th place in the top-100 universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In such indicators as academic reputation and papers per faculty member, Tomsk State University entered the top-5 Russian universities participating in the ranking, and became the first in the international faculty (%) indicator. In the overall ranking, we have the highest proportion of international students and staff, as well as proportion of employees with an academic degree.

The high indicators associated with international activities are not accidental. Tomsk State University has attached great attention to the development of international cooperation, and the creation of master's and postgraduate training programs in English. The number of international students who come here to study and work is constantly growing. For example, now TSU has students from more than 30 countries and graduate students from 19 countries.

- TSU today is a successful and dynamic university that has confidently entered the world educational space, - says Dmitriy Sukhushin, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development  . - This year, many universities noted in this rating improved their indicators, competition has become tougher, and yet, our university rose to an even higher position.

This year, TSU has strengthened its position in the prestigious world ranking QS World University Rankings 2015/16.  TSU took 481-490th position, and became one of 13 Russian universities included in the global top-800 ranking of Times Higher Education - 2015.

For reference: Rating QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia was first made last year and covers 30 countries: the former Eastern Bloc states, Turkey, the CIS and Baltic countries. Universities are evaluated on such criteria as Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Faculty/student ratio, Institutions/public data, Papers per faculty member, Staff with PhD (%), Citations per paper, International faculty (%), International students (%).
