22.07.2019

The scientific journal Tomsk State University Journal. Chemistry was accepted into the database of the Chemical Abstracts Service. This is a database of the American Chemical Society and one of eight international databases, entry in which means the inclusion of the journal in the list of Russian peer-reviewed scientific journals.

- The American Chemical Society is a powerful professional community and one of the leading international sources of scientific information in the chemical sciences, - said Irina Kurzina, chairman of the journal editorial board and TSU professor. – Entry into the database is recognition of the status of our Faculty of Chemistry and our chemical school on the world stage as one of the leaders in chemistry. Submission of abstracts of our articles in open access through the American Chemical Society will expand the partner network and present the results to the world professional chemical community. Also, entry into the Chemical Abstracts Service database leads to TSU’s increase in the QS rankings in the Chemistry area and an increase in citations.

Tomsk State University Journal. Chemistry in 2014 became an independent periodical from the general scientific journal Tomsk State University Journal. It is published quarterly and accepts publications on the structure and properties of substances, chemical reactions, and transformations of solid-phase materials.

At the beginning of 2019, two TSU scientific journals, the Siberian Psychological Journal and the Tomsk State University Journal. Management, computing, and computer science entered the Scopus database. At the beginning of 2019 already 20 TSU scientific journals were part of the Scopus and/or Web of Science Core Collection, and the university is now the leader among Russian universities in the number of scientific journals included in global indices. The inclusion of their publications in international databases helps to increase the citation of scientists, which is one of the criteria for evaluating universities in world rankings.
