Today the QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe & Central Asia (EECA) 2016 has been published. Tomsk State University took 20th place in the ranking and 5th among Russian universities.
For ten years the British analytical company Quacquarelli Symonds has produced annual rankings of the best universities in the world by region and subject, the QS World University Rankings,.
QS EECA Rating is based on academic reputation and employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, papers per faculty member, web impact, citations per paper, staff with a Ph.D., international faculty, and international students.
- Compared to the last year we have almost doubled the rate of efficiency of internet resources (Web impact) - said Irina Zholobova, director of the TSU Information Analytical Centre. - Also, we have seen a steady growth in reputation indicators, the proportion of international students, and the number of published articles.
In the QS World University Rankings, Tomsk State University is in the group of 481-490, while ranked in the top 300 in the subject areas Physics and Astronomy and Modern Languages, and it occupies 44th place among the BRICS universities. Also last week, it became known that TSU improved its position by112 places in the international reputation rating Round University Ranking (RUR), and in the first objective rating of Russian universities by many indicators it entered the top 10 universities in the country.
