September 6, the British consulting company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has published a list of the best universities in the world. According to QS World University Rankings 2016/17, TSU improved its position by 104 points compared with the last year and took 377th place.
In particular, the growth of such indicators as the number of international students and teachers was noted. In 2016 students from 37 countries entered TSU (including for the first time students from Jordan and Ghana). They will learn the Russian language and literature and develop economics, history, and computer science specialties.
- This is the result of systematic work of the collective in many areas - said Eduard Galazhinsky, TSU Rector. - The main thing that shows this growth is that we have already mastered the international standards. I expect that regardless of the available resources, we will continue this movement, because the restructuring of the work format has already occurred, and rankings show this.
In 2012 TSU ranked in the QS World University Rankings for the first time, and since then the University has climbed by 174 lines.
The QS World University Rankings is one of the most prestigious world university rankings. The company Quacquarelli Symonds publishes other authoritative rankings in which TSU is also increasing every year. In particular, in 2016 Tomsk State University took 43rd place in the BRICS 2016, 20th in the ranking of EmergingEurope and Central Asia universities, and also entered the world's top 300 in two subject areas: Physics and Astronomy and Modern Languages.
