Tomsk State University has strengthened its position in the international Round University Ranking (RUR) and entered the Silver League. Compared to the previous year, TSU rose to 71 points and now ranks 256th in the overall ranking and the third in Russia.
RUR evaluates the activities of universities on 20 indicators and 4 dimension areas: teaching, research, internationalization, and financial sustainability. On teaching, TSU rose to 75th place and took second place among Russian universities. On internationalization, Tomsk State University improved its positions by 83 points (300th in the world), and on research it has plus 85 points (483rd in the world).
- Our strengthening in the rating is due to high positions on reputation indicators in the sections of indicators teaching (201-250 group), research (201-250 group), and internationalization (351-400 group). This is an external evaluation of independent experts, - commented Irina Zholobova, director of the TSU Information and Analytical Centre.
Data on reputational indicators is collected by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), which conducts a special study for this purpose. From 10,000 to 12,000 scientists with a high Hirsch index and publication activity, according to the database of the Web of Science Core Collection, are taking part in it.
Currently, TSU occupies the 377th place in the QS World University Rankings, and in the ranking Times Higher Education it is included in the group of 501-600.
