November 2-4, in India, Tomsk State University will hold an international forum, Russian Education as a Space for Opportunities. The forum will bring together representatives of the largest universities in Russia and India and will contribute to strengthening ties between the countries and creating joint educational projects and programmes.
The forum will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) and the University of Delhi (Delhi). Currently more than 150 people have registered - teachers, graduate students, and students of Russian and Indian universities. The working language of the forum is Russian.
- As part of the forum, representatives of the Russian universities will demonstrate the possibility of Russian education as an important component of the world scientific and educational space, - says Natalia Nesterova, a member of the organizing committee and Associate Professor at the TSU Faculty of Philology. - In addition, the forum will provide a search for partners in India to expand educational, scientific, and cultural interaction and promote the idea of teaching in the Russian language at all levels of education.
The forum will be held in four thematic areas, which will discuss the educational opportunities in Russia, the trajectories of the development of universities, and Russian culture in a European context. Workshops, a poster exhibition, and photo exhibitions of universities are also planned. During the forum is also scheduled the official third meeting of the working group of the Association of Global Universities and the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI).
The forum will be held with the support of the Russian-Indian Association of Universities, which was established May 8, 2015. Coordinators of the Association are Tomsk State University and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for CIS Issues, compatriots living abroad, and the International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) took part in organizing the forum.
