Tomsk State University became the winner of the open competition conducted by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for the provision of educational services for professional development of those in charge of energy saving and energy efficiency at state-funded organizations and institutions in the Siberian Federal District.

Competitors of TSU were institutions of higher education such as Novosibirsk State Technical University, Moscow Technological Institute, Transbaikal State University, Institute for professional development of managers and specialists in the fuel and energy sector, National Research Technological University “MISiS” (NRTU “MISiS”), Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Siberian Federal University.

According to the competition’s conditions, in the course of 2014 Tomsk State University will organize and carry out training for 5457 specialists from 12 regions of Siberia. The training is to be provided at the TSU Institute of Distance Learning.

- Our victory is an important milestone as we are to play a role in energy efficiency and energy saving which constitute priority areas of Russia’s development today, - Director of TSU Institute of Distance Learning, Galina Mozhaeva says. – And we will act as an organizer of this work all across the Siberian Federal District.
