The ESU’s goals are to provide services that enhance the quality of international scientists’ intercultural experience, and contribute to TSU’s internationalization and visibility around the world.

We cooperate with TSU International Academic Advisory Board, an advisory body responsible for giving recommendations on issues relating to the University’s internationalization in the areas of education, science, and innovation. The main goal of the Board’s work is to assist in solving the urgent issues related to the goals and objectives of the University’s strategic development. The ESU organizes the annual Board meetings, and cooperation between Board experts and TSU scientific groups (internal and external communications); and facilitates Board experts’ recommendations implementation on general and local TSU policies
We contribute to international scientists’ and lecturers’ employment at TSU. Our Selection Committee operates on the basis of Russian Federation labor legislation. The Selection Committee receives special applications from TSU laboratories and faculties. Such application includes the information about prospective international candidate and his/her responsibilities as a TSU employee. If an application is approved, we assist the employment procedure: open special salary account, translate all necessary documents, and complete forms including the employment contract. In addition, we consult successful candidates on a wide range of questions (Russian Federation legislation, taxation, business trips to Russia, visa support, accommodation in Tomsk, etc.). We also monitor the efficiency index of our international employees.
We initiated the TSU Visiting Professor Programme in 2014. We recruit and involve international academic staff and experts for conducting different types of work in TSU subdivisions. These activities are aimed to enhance research and professional competencies of TSU students and academic staff, and to promote international academic exchanges and scientific cooperation. The following are entitled to participate in the Visiting Professor Programme: highly qualified experts and specialists not affiliated at TSU but expressing their interest in making a contribution to TSU’s development as well as in its educational research and innovation activities.

We supervise the TSU Postdoctoral Programme. We recruit Russian and international postdocs in accordance to the needs of TSU laboratories, and assists them from the beginning (visa support, arrival and accommodation, employment support, etc.).
